Geoffrey K. Mburu an Accountant and Project Manager based in Houston, USA has extensive Sacco experience having been a member of the Supervisory Committee since February 2016. In this role, he oversees the KUDS Board and ensures that KUDS audited financial reports are fairly stated. He also works closely with the Board and Secretariat to implement necessary changes recommended by the auditors.
Mburu is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and holds an MBA from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). He is also a certified Financial Manager (CFM) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
His focus is on ensuring that KUDS maintains compliance with the Regulations 2020 as prescribed by Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) and a clear separation between KUDSIC (the investment arm of Sacco) and KUDS (the Sacco). He will also prioritize maintaining a member-driven organization in line with the Cooperative movement with transparency and integrity, and work to prevent potential pitfalls that have been witnessed with other Saccos.
