Evelyn Olunja - Chief Executive

Evelyn Olunja is a seasoned Business Development and Marketing professional with over two decades of experience in business management at the corporate level, 14 of which have been spent in the Sacco industry. She has held leadership roles at Mwalimu National SACCO (2009-2014) and United Nations SACCO (2014-2021), where she gained valuable experience in Sacco leadership.

In addition to being an African Development Educator (ADE), Evelyn is a member of the World Council of Credit Union’s Global Women’s Leadership Network (The Kenyan Champion), Chairperson of Women in Cooperative Societies Kenya, and a trainer/mentor of Canada’s Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF) Women’s Mentorship program.

She is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Nairobi, holds an MBA from the same institution and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, among other certifications.

Evelyn is highly skilled in policy matters, membership growth, savings mobilization, product and business development, and partnership building. She is also passionate about mentoring women and youth.

She is based in Nairobi at the Kenya USA Diaspora Regulated Non-WDT Sacco office, where she plays a key role in driving the organization’s vision.
